At Whale Watching Club Mirissa, we believe in being honest with our guests. Whales and dolphins are wild animals, so sightings cannot be guaranteed.

Our current estimated sighting rates are:

• Whale sightings: approximately 50%
• Dolphin sightings: approximately 90%

Under the current conditions, we offer a beautiful boat safari in the Mirissa ocean. Our experienced captain and crew will do their best to locate whales and dolphins responsibly. If you are lucky, you may see whales during the tour while also enjoying dolphins, sea views and other marine wildlife.

Responsible and Ethical Whale Watching
When a whale is sighted, several boats may gather around the same animal. However, we do not chase whales or disturb their natural behaviour. We keep a respectful distance and carefully observe how the animals move.

Our goal is to give passengers a memorable whale watching experience while protecting whales, dolphins and the marine environment. Captain Manoj is a nature lover with many years of experience in the southern waters of Sri Lanka. He is committed to conducting ethical whale watching tours without putting unnecessary pressure on marine wildlife.
We kindly ask guests to understand that this is a responsible wildlife tour, not a guaranteed whale sighting trip. Your time and money are valuable, so we want you to know the current conditions before making a booking.

Swimming Stop During the Tour
Weather and sea conditions permitting, we stop the boat for approximately 30 minutes so guests can enjoy a sea bath. If you would like to participate, please bring suitable swimming clothes and a towel. Always follow the crew’s safety instructions.
